The Arkle Challenge Trophy is a race which takes place at 14:10 on day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival. It is run on the Old Course at Cheltenham over a distance of approximately 3 miles and features 13 fences. The race is open to novice horses aged 5 and over.

Replacing the Cotswold Chase race at the Cheltenham Festival in 1969, the Arkle Challenge Trophy is named after three-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner ‘Arkle’ who won the cup in 1964, 1965 and 1966.
